International Honors Program (IHP) - Stanford Summer Session
Stanford University is recognized as one of the world's leading research and teaching institutions. Luiss and Stanford University have a cooperation agreement in the fields of Economics, Management, Business, and Political Science. During the International Honors Program (IHP) 2026, Luiss students will take courses held in English and earn credits for those courses in their Luiss study plan. The International Honors Program (IHP) is a tuition-paying program, meaning students will pay tuition to Stanford in addition to their regular tuition at Luiss.
Luiss students are expected to attend Stanford for eight weeks, from June 20, 2026, to August 16, 2026, and must pay all fees directly to Stanford University.

Who can apply
Students enrolled in the 2025–26 academic year in the 2nd year of the Bachelor's Degree programs in
- Economics and Business;
- Economics and Management;
- Management and Artificial Intelligence;
- Business Administration;
- Political Science;
- Politics: Philosophy and Economics
Requirements for the year 2026
Students interested in applying for this program should meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of 38 credits earned during the extraordinary Winter examination session;
- Students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Management, Economics and Business and Management, or Artificial Intelligence are required to have passed the Mathematics 1 exam;
- Students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degrees in Economics and Management or Political Science are required to submit one of the following English certificates:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Minimum score of 100 - International English Language Testing System: Academic (IELTS Academic)
Minimum overall band score of 7.0 - Cambridge Assessment English:
Minimum score of 180 on the Cambridge English Advanced, CEFR Level C1 - Duolingo:
Minimum score of 120 - Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)
Minimum score of 70 - SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing)
Minimum score of 660 - ACT (English):
Minimum score of 29
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
The certificates mentioned should not be older than two years from the application deadline (January 2026).
Selection Criteria
Eligible candidates will be ranked based on an analysis of their academic performance, which includes credits and a weighted average grade, with each factor accounting for 60% and 40% of the total score, respectively. Academic performance will be calculated based on the data available to the Student Office by the end of the Winter Exam Session.
An additional motivational interview may be required.

Grade conversion in the Luiss study plan
To have courses taken at Stanford University recognized in the Luiss study plan, Luiss students must comply with Stanford’s rules and conditions regarding credits, attendance, deadlines, etc. Selected students can choose two to three courses at Stanford, reaching a total of eight Stanford Units. If they pass these units, they will be recognized in their Luiss study plan as one elective course worth a total of 8 ECTS.
