International Honors Program (IHP) - Stanford Summer Session
Stanford University is recognized as one of the world's leading research and teaching institutions. Luiss and Stanford University have a cooperation agreement in the fields of Economics, Management, Business, and Political Science. During the International Honors Program (IHP) 2026, Luiss students will take courses held in English and earn credits for those courses in their Luiss study plan. The International Honors Program (IHP) is a tuition-paying program, meaning students will pay tuition to Stanford in addition to their regular tuition at Luiss.
Luiss students are expected to attend Stanford for eight weeks, from June 20, 2026, to August 16, 2026, and must pay all fees directly to Stanford University.

Who can apply
Students enrolled in the 2025–26 academic year in the 2nd year of the Bachelor's Degree programs in
- Economics and Business;
- Economics and Management;
- Management and Artificial Intelligence;
- Business Administration;
- Political Science;
- Politics: Philosophy and Economics
Requirements for the year 2026
By February 16, 2026:
- all students are required to have an average grade of 25/30 or higher;
- All students must have registered at least 38 credits in their Luiss career.
- Students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree programs in Economics and Management, Economics and Business, Management and Artificial Intelligence, and Business Administration are required to have passed the Mathematics course.
Students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degrees in Economics and Management and Political Science are required to submit one of the following English certificates, which should not be older than two years from the start of the program (June 2026). Therefore, we will consider the following English-language certificates valid if obtained from June 2024 onward:
- TOEFL iBT score of 91/120 or higher;
- IELTS: minimum score of 7.0;
- Cambridge: CPE; FCE with a minimum grade of A; CAE with a grade of B/C;
- Duolingo: min. 130;
- Trinity School Language Academy in Rome, Level C1;
- Luiss Language Center, level C1;
For the selection process of this call, the English level achieved in the admissions test will not be considered.
Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics and Business, Politics: Philosophy and Economics, Management and Artificial Intelligence, and Business Administration are not required to submit an English language certificate.

Grade conversion in the Luiss study plan
To have courses taken at Stanford University recognized in the Luiss study plan, Luiss students must comply with Stanford’s rules and conditions regarding credits, attendance, deadlines, etc. Selected students can choose two to three courses at Stanford, reaching a total of eight Stanford Units. If they pass these units, they will be recognized in their Luiss study plan as one elective course worth a total of 8 ECTS.

Tuition and Fees
For the 2026 Summer Session, tuition will be:
- $9,632 for 8 units, with a 20% tuition reduction (IHP discount) already included;
- $3,399 for 8 weeks of living in a shared residence on campus. IHP students must live on campus.
- $1,984 for the dining plans, which are required for all students living on campus during the Summer Quarter;
- $2,058 for Health Insurance (Cardinal Care). All students enrolled in courses at Stanford must have health insurance. The University will automatically enroll students in Stanford’s Cardinal Care health insurance plan for the Summer Quarter. Students can waive this fee by providing proof of acceptable alternative coverage that offers benefits comparable to those provided under Cardinal Care;
- $271 for the Campus Health Services Fee. All registered students are required to pay a quarterly fee to cover the costs of services provided by Stanford’s Vaden Health Center. This fee is required for all students and cannot be waived.
- $160 for the I-20 fee. This fee covers the cost of processing a student’s I-20 and is paid to Bechtel International Center as part of the acceptance process;
- $250 for the Document Fee. This one-time university fee covers the cost of maintaining student records, processing transcript requests, and other Registrar Office-related services;
- $94 for House Dues. This fee is used for activities and events organized by the residence hall staff;
- $94 for the Technology Fee. This covers the cost of an in-room network connection and a landline with a phone and local telephone service;
- $32 for the Mail Service Fee. This fee is required for all residential students at Stanford and covers the use of Stanford Package and Mailing Services to receive packages during the summer.
