LLM Educational Program in partnership with Fordham University
Highlights
Students selected for the joint educational program will be registered at Luiss during their time at Fordham and will continue to pay tuition fees to Luiss. Students will be exempt from paying tuition at Fordham; however, for the 2026–2027 academic year, they will be required to cover administrative costs related to the program:
- Health insurance: Approximately $5,000 for both semesters
- Administrative fees: Approximately $1,750 for both semesters
To earn the two diplomas, students must comply with the rules and conditions of both their home and host universities regarding credits, attendance, deadlines, and more.

Application Process
The Call for Applications will be published in early December 2025, and students will be able to apply starting January 8, 2026. Further information on the deadlines is provided in the table below. Details regarding the application process not available on this webpage will be provided in the 2026/27 Call for Applications, which will be uploaded to the “Useful documents” section at the bottom of this page.
Who can apply
Depending on their major, fourth-year Law students can apply for:
- an LL.M. in International Business and Trade Law: open to students majoring in International Law, European Law, Law and Innovation, Corporate and Tax Law, or Business Law and Economics
- an LL.M. in Banking, Corporate, and Finance Law: open to students majoring in Corporate and Tax Law, Business Law and Economics, or Civil Law
- an LL.M. in International Law and Justice, open to students majoring in International Law
- an LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution, open to students majoring in International Law
- an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law, open to students majoring in Law and Innovation
- an LLM in Corporate Compliance open to students majoring in Criminal Law, Corporate and Tax Law, Business Law and Economics, or International Law
- an LLM in Fashion Law open to students majoring in Corporate and Tax Law, Business Law and Economics, International Law, Law and Innovation, or Civil Law
- an LLM in Real Estate Law open to students majoring in Civil Law, Business Law and Economics, and Corporate and Tax Law
- an LLM in Competition Law open to students majoring in Business Law and Economics; European Law; and Administrative Law

Each year, two students can participate in the program.
Requirements
Eligible students can apply if they meet the following requirements:
- have passed and registered at least 180 credits in total
- have a weighted average grade of 27/30 or higher
- hold an international English language certificate accepted by Fordham:
- TOEFL: min. 100 iBT; min. 250 CBT; min. 600 PBT
- IELTS: 7.0 or higher (online test accepted)
- Duolingo English Test: minimum score of 120
Language certificates must not be older than two years from the start of the mobility program (August/September 2026). Applicants must meet the requirements with a single test.
Selection Procedure
Luiss University will select a shortlist of candidates based on a non-disputable evaluation of the student's academic profile and motivation. Further details about the selection process will be published along with the call.
Results will be communicated to Fordham University, which reserves the right to make the final selection.
Selection Criteria
The selection process consists of three steps:
| Step 1 | Eligible candidates will be ranked based on an analysis of their academic performance (credits 53%, internship credits 2%, weighted average grade 45%). |
| Step 2 | An interview will focus on the candidate's motivation, academic background, and previous international or professional experiences. |
| Step 3 | The partner universities, after analyzing the Luiss Commission ranking and the candidates’ dossiers, have the right to confirm the final ranking. |
