Case Analysis and Business Games

The program is open to all students enrolled in the 2019–2020 academic year in the first year of a Master’s degree program in the Departments of Economics and Finance or Political Science, or in the third year of the Single-Cycle Master’s degree program in Law.

The program is completely free, and attending it earns you 4 university credits under the “Other Activities” category in your curriculum.

The program, conducted in Italian, spans a total of 44 hours. Beyond these hours, students will be expected to work on assigned project work, either independently or as part of a team, as needed. Classes will take place over 5 or more weekends, all concentrated in the second semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, with the schedule tailored to the educational objectives of each phase of the program.

To earn the University Credits, you must attend 80% of the total hours, which amounts to 35 hours. This means you can miss a maximum of 9 hours.

The course aims to analyze the most relevant aspects of doing business. The selected case will focus on E.R.S. (Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability) issues.

By analyzing a business case from various perspectives, students will focus on the most significant issues related to doing business and systematize the knowledge they have acquired throughout their studies.

After analyzing the case, students will be divided into small teams of 6–8 and asked to develop concrete proposals to address the real-world problems identified during the analysis phase.

By incorporating the role-playing technique, students will step into the shoes of various roles within and outside the company, experiencing the range of possible solutions.

The course will be structured into the following phases:

STEP 1 - Case presentation - 8 hours

STEP 2  - Dividing students into groups - 4 hours

STEP 3 - Group work - 8 hours

STEP 4 - Plenary presentation - 6 hours

STEP 5 - Business game launch - 2 hours

STEP 6 - Group work - 12 hours

STEP 7 - Plenary presentation and conclusion of the work - 4 hours

The calendar will be available in January 2020.
