Language courses without credit hours
Additional elective language courses (zero credits)
In addition to the curriculum for each degree program, and in accordance with the Academic Senate's decision, students have the option to add a language course to their study plan as an additional elective course with no credit.
You can submit a request to attend one of the language courses that are active at the time of your request on Saturday mornings. To submit an application, you must meet the following requirements:
- be enrolled in a course
- be current with all previous exams
- have a weighted average of at least 27/30
The request can be submitted by the first day of the semester, adhering to the following timelines and guidelines:

To formalize your request, you must complete the designated form and submit it to the University Language Center by the first day of the relevant semester. The request will be considered accepted only upon receipt of a confirmation email from the University Language Center to the Luiss account – @studenti.luiss.it – containing the course information and details (schedule, instructor, and group).
If exams have been taken but are still awaiting official recording, requests may also be “accepted with reservation.”
Attendance can be granted for a minimum of two and a maximum of three semesters. If the attendance rate falls below 50% in any semester of the course, excluding periods of study abroad, enrollment in the course will be terminated. Therefore, eligibility is contingent upon successful completion of all course semesters.
The language chosen as an additional elective course must be different from any required and/or optional languages already included in the curriculum.
Additionally, requesting the inclusion of a language as an additional elective course before the scheduled course delivery dates outlined in the relevant program offering is not permitted.
The Language Center cannot guarantee that the additional elective language course you choose will not overlap with any other activities, so you will need to check this yourself.
