AMKA
Amka is a non-profit association founded in 2001, born from the convergence of two distinct cultures and a shared desire to make a real difference in the lives of people in the Global South. The organization’s mission is to mobilize resources, consensus, and commitment to promote sustainable development in the Congo (DRC) and Guatemala through integrated and participatory initiatives. Since 2006, another project area has been international volunteer programs promoted in our region, guided by an active and participatory approach.
By joining AMKA’s volunteer program, participants will take part in Training Workshops held at the Association’s headquarters starting in February. The training, which spans 14 scheduled sessions, is essential for embarking on the field experience with awareness, building team spirit, and acquiring the necessary technical skills.
Once the training period in Italy is complete, the second phase of the program begins with a three-week stay during the summer in either the Congo (DRC) or Guatemala. The experience involves implementing projects developed during the workshops, participating in community life, and engaging in complementary activities in the fields of health and education.
Therefore, two training workshops are offered, depending on the destination chosen for the field experience.

- To discuss participation in the volunteer program with Amka’s staff and receive further information, interested individuals are encouraged to contact the organization. The number of participants is subject to logistical constraints. Therefore, we advise those interested to start a dialogue with the Association well in advance of the informational meeting and the registration deadline.
