Peter Pan
The project will not be reactivated for the 2020-21 academic year.
Peter Pan welcomes families from outside Rome who bring their children with cancer to the capital for treatment, particularly at the Bambin Gesù and Policlinico Umberto I. In addition to the immediate family, children and adolescents are accommodated for about 75% of the treatment period, plus continuous follow-up periods.
To become a volunteer, you'll need to participate in introductory interviews on October 3rd and 4th.
Once you pass the nonprofit's evaluation, you'll need to complete the full two-day training program, which starts on Saturday, October 12.
The initial training course comprises a total of 12 hours, spread over two consecutive Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (including breaks). These sessions aim to explain the history, organization, and various topics related to the service and role of volunteers at Peter Pan.
All sessions will take place at the Polo Didattico Training Center, located in Piazza Oderico da Pordenone.

Following the training, there will be a period of mentoring and on-the-job support in the service lasting approximately two months. Each aspiring volunteer is asked to commit to a fixed half-day shift once a week, based on the mentor's availability.
Attendance will be recorded starting from the first day of training and during mentoring hours.
To become a volunteer with the Association, you not only need to be of legal age and live in the city of Rome, but you should also consider whether you are ready and suited to engage in a highly emotionally charged environment. You should also be willing to work on yourself, your listening skills, your ability to work as part of a team, and your capacity to relate to others with empathy. Additionally, a competent approach is required, which is supported not only by the mandatory initial training program but also by ongoing training during service. This includes regular group meetings with Peter Pan’s volunteer trainers.
The non-profit organization will handle registration for this activity and will also organize the selection interviews, which will take place on October 3rd and 4th.
To earn the university credits, in addition to the training days totaling 40 hours, you must complete at least 7 months of service, which means 28 two-hour shifts.
When registering, you must indicate that you are a Luiss student.Soft Skills
