Guided tours - 2022-2023 academic year edition

The program is open to all students enrolled in the 2022–2023 academic year in Bachelor's, Master's, and Single-Cycle Master's degree programs.

The goal is to educate students on the historical, urban planning, art, and architecture of the Luiss campuses, and to turn them into ambassadors for the university's beauty and history by having them serve as guides for tours of four of the Luiss campuses:

  • Villa Blanc, Boni, and Mora, 1895–1896 (Via Nomentana 216)
  • Villa Alberoni, Bruno, Brasini 1924–1929 (Viale Pola 12)
  • Villa de Heritz, Milani 1929 (Viale Romania 32)
  • Former Workhouse for the Blind Veterans, Aschieri 1929-1931 (Via Parenzo 11)

Training (24 hours)

  • Session 1 – Saturday, October 15, 2022, 9:00 AM–11:00 AM: Introduction to the program; Fundamentals of Public Speaking (2 hours)
  • 2nd session - Saturday, October 22, 2022, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Villa Blanc and Villa Alberoni - theory (3 hours)
  • Session 3 - Sunday, October 23, 2022, 9:00 AM–11:00 AM: Villa Blanc - site visit (2 hours); 11:00 AM–1:00 PM: Villa Alberoni - site visit (2 hours)
  • Session 4 – Saturday, November 5, 2022, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM: Villa de Heritz and the former workhouse for the war blind – theory (3 hours)
  • Session 5 - Sunday, November 6, 2022, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Villa de Heritz - site visit (2 hours) - 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Former workhouse for the war blind - site visit (2 hours)
  • Session 6 - Sunday, November 13, 2022, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Villa Blanc - simulated tour (2 hours) - 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Villa Alberoni - simulated tour (2 hours)
  • 7th session - Sunday, November 20, 2022, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Former Workhouse for the Blind of War - simulated visit (2 hours); 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Villa de Heritz - simulated visit (2 hours)

Guided tours (36 hours)

Regulations

  • The course lasts a total of 60 hours.
  • The training takes place on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Depending on the number of participants, the theoretical portion may be held in person or remotely. On-site visits and simulations will be conducted in person, following the University's safety measures. Guided tours, scheduled on a case-by-case basis with students, will primarily occur on Sundays, with the possibility of activities on weekday days as well.
  • To earn the 4 University Credits, you must attend 80% of the total hours, which amounts to 48 hours. This means you can miss a maximum of 12 hours.
  • Students enrolled in Master's programs cannot earn university credits through this activity.
  • Credits will only be awarded to students who have already added, or who will add, the generic code “SJ1- Other activities” to their study plan.
  • Enrolled students can attend the course even if they are not earning university credits.
  • There are 20 spots available, and the maximum number of participants includes students from all relevant departments.
  • Participants will be selected based on their prior experience in this field, and then in order of registration.
  • To join the initiative, students enrolled in the 2022/2023 academic year must submit a brief motivational letter.  
  • Requests received after the submission deadline of Friday, October 7, 2022, will not be considered.
