Small art studio, 2016–2017 academic year

Piccolo Laboratorio d'arte LUISS

A space to explore the world of illustration, filled with color and poetry. This course aims to equip participants with foundational technical skills. These, combined with creative and visual stimuli, will guide them on a personal expressive journey, culminating in the creation of artworks to be exhibited within the University's spaces as part of the Lascia il (di)segno initiative.

Program

Color

  • Support techniques: colored pencils, pastels, watercolors, and collage.
  • From color theory to communication, from psychology to spirituality.
  • Creating a personal, hand-bound “little book of color.”
  • Free-form work with an individual or group theme, as chosen by the established group.

The mark

  • Support techniques: graphite, pen, India ink, and markers.
  • The variables of gesture, texture, playing with lines, and drawing without thinking.
  • Creating a series of themed postcards and their origami holder.
  • Free-form work with an individual or group theme, as chosen by the established group.

The sessions take place in room 308C (the Blue Room) at the Viale Romania campus from 8:15 PM to 10:15 PM.

Materials

The instructor will provide some materials during the sessions, including paper for the exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring any art supplies they already have, such as pens, pencils, markers, paper, and anything else they find useful or interesting, including magazines with images to cut out or use for inspiration. If they don't have these, they'll need to purchase at least colored pencils and watercolors. Further instructions will be provided during the first session.

Registration

Interested students who can ensure regular attendance at the sessions can submit their registration by February 28, 2017, to attivitaculturali@luiss.it using their LUISS email address and providing a phone number.

The first 30 registrants will be admitted to the course, and additional applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
